TracysDogs began in 2011 as simply a way to help dogs in San Antonio escape the inevitability of euthanasia at the city municipal shelter. A humble start nearly eight years ago has blossomed into a national rescue initiative saving nearly 700 dogs annually, 50+ adoptions volunteers, and nearly 5,000 dogs once destined to perish in South Texas shelters living in forever homes in 44 different states across the country.

Kerrie Bell Nelson

Kerrie has been with TracysDogs from the beginning in 2011. She visits with each dog every day and has a keen sense for their personality, temperament type, likes and dislikes. She's one of the best Matchmakers in rescue. Kerrie is also our in-house photographer (it's her voice most of the time you hear in the dog videos).

Amber Hodgson

Amber is responsible for managing TracysDogs's adoption team of seven volunteers. She is a lawyer by trade and serves as our in-house counsel as well. Amber also works closely with Diane Bird to oversee and guide our adoptions team.

Diane Bird

Diane adopted Millie in April 2015 and is a TracysDogs' PetParent member. Diane began as an application checker and quickly moved into the role of adoptions manager before becoming our Asst. Director of Adoptions. She lives in the Chicago-Land area and is a huge sports fan.

Alix Brandt

Alix will serve in a newly created position on the team serving as adoptions coordinator. Alix will support the team in many ways; working directly with and assisting director of adoptions, reviewing applications, taking on adoptions manager responsibilities as needed. Alix has been a volunteer at several Gotcha Day events and adopted her first TracysDogs in March 2018.

Amy Freiermuth

Amy has worked with TracysDogs for more than three years. First as a foster mom, then as a co-foster manager. In 2016, Amy moved to adoptions manager. She is a two-time foster-fail with TracysDogs and has a full-time career in Human Resources Management.

Jessica Stufflet

Jess began with TracysDogs, first as an adopter (now of two TDogs), then as an applications checker before becoming an adoptions manager. Jess is an engineer by trade, so naturally she is our go-to gal for all things technology related. Jess is also the host of Facebook Live during Gotcha Day events.

Leslie Mazzarini

Leslie resides in the Pittsburgh area and also adopted a TDog first before volunteering to check applications. She quickly moved to adoptions manager and coordinates our events in Western Pennsylvania. Leslie is also a big sports fan, living and dying through her Pittsburgh Steelers.

Brenda Weaver

Brenda joins our team as an adoption manager after serving for a number of years as an application review specialist. Brenda and her husband are parents to three of TracysDogs, have volunteered at several events, as well as running and organizing a Gotcha Day event in Eagan, MN.
